Description

Jakarta an old city since the year of 1527, even though Jakarta now is a metropolitan city, but the historical part of Jakarta is still well maintained. On this excursion we will explore the Antique market at Surabaya Street where displayed the antiquities from China, Portuguese and also from the Netherlands. We also will visit the National Museum offers historical, prehistoric, archaeological and ethnographic aspects of Indonesia through extensive collection of artifacts and relic is good introduction to the life of Indonesia's various ethnic groups. Then we will walk to the oldest China town area in Indonesia, Glodok, originally just outside the city walls. This area is characterized by winding lanes, slanting red tiled roofs and small dark shops and a hub of the Chinese community until we reach the Golden Wisdom Taoist temple called Jin De Yuan dating back to the 1650’s. Also visit the St. Maria the Fatima Church which sit side by side with the Chinese Temple.
